Priya Bapat, who has carved a distinct identity for herself in both Marathi and Hindi cinema and won audiences’ hearts with her versatility, is now set to appear in a thrilling new avatar. In the upcoming horror series "Andhera", soon to premiere on Amazon Prime, she will be seen in a significant role. The recently released trailer on social media has sparked both fear and curiosity among viewers. With this series, Priya makes her debut in the horror genre and, for the first time, takes on the role of a police officer — a treat for her fans.
Speaking about the experience, Priya Bapat says, "This is my first time working in the horror genre, and the experience has truly been unique. We shot many night shifts, but the script was so interesting that I didn’t even feel the exhaustion. When I first read it, I immediately thought — this is the best script I’ve read in a long time. The story unfolds in very different ways, making it quite challenging from an acting perspective. It has action sequences as well as chilling horror scenes, so as an actor, it was an absolute thrill to perform this role. Until now, I’ve played characters like politicians and lawyers, but here I am stepping into an entirely different profession. I’ve received so much love for my work in Marathi, and equally for my Hindi projects, which makes me very happy. Now, I’m curious to see how I can win audiences’ hearts in the horror genre. With the trailer already out, I’m eagerly waiting to see the audience’s reaction and hope they give this role just as much love."
After watching the "Andhera" trailer, audiences are left with many questions — What is the story? Where will this mystery lead? These answers will be revealed soon, but until then, the thrilling glimpse of "Andhera" and Priya Bapat’s horror debut have already made the series a hot topic of conversation.
