Chitrangda Singh reflects on her big debut on Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi's 20th anniversary, says, “I was so nervous”

Chitrangda Singh, who is riding on the success of the series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, has been in the entertainment industry for around two decades. The actress has delivered some of the powerful and entertaining roles over the years.

However, Chitrangda has recently walked down memory lane and talked about her debut film, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. She recalled her first day on the set and how director Sudhir Mishra cheered her up.

The actress said, “The first time I saw a proper movie camera was on my first day of shoot. It was the scene where KK’s character comes to meet Geeta in the guest house. It was an emotional, intimate moment and I was so nervous to block out everyone in the room and act with no dialogues.”

She further recalled, “I can never forget that feeling. I think I got the shot in two or three takes and Sudhir Mishra just said, ‘Welcome to the movies, Chitrangda.’ I still remember that day so clearly the excitement, the nervousness, the joy.”

Directed by Sudhir Mishra, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi was released in 2005 and went on to become a cult classic. The film received huge praise from the audience and critics alike for its complex storytelling and powerful performances.

Chitrangda stars as Geeta in the film and leaves a lasting impression on the audience. The film also features Kay Kay Menon and Shiney Ahuja in the pivotal roles.

The film introduced the actress to the country and helped her to bag some bigger roles in films like Desi Boyz, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Gaslight.

The actress was last seen in the Netflix series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, where she plays the powerful and enigmatic Nibedita Basak. She will next star in the most-awaited Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar.
