Chitrangda Singh received praise for her captivating performance in Khkee: The Bengal Chapter, her most recent web series debut. The crew often commented on how much she looked like the great Smita Patil during the shoot.
Chitrangda talked about how moved she was by the comparisons as she reflected on those times. Meeting Prateik Babbar, Smita Patil's son, who also recognised the striking resemblance and valued the resemblance to his famous mother, is a particularly sentimental memory.
Speaking about he experience, she said, "I had a wonderful time shooting for Khakee: The Bengal Chapter and created so many beautiful memories on set. But one moment that I’ll always hold close to my heart is when the cast and crew mentioned that I resembled the iconic Smita Patil. Although this wasn’t the first time I heard it, I’ve always admired her and been deeply inspired by her incredible body of work."
“To be compared to someone as phenomenal as Smita Patil is not just a huge compliment, but also a reminder of the responsibility to continue striving for meaningful work in cinema. I even had the chance to meet her son, Prateik, and was truly stunned when he shared the same sentiment. If I ever get the opportunity and the right script comes along, I would absolutely love to portray her life on screen—it would be a true honour to celebrate her legacy through a biopic," Chitrangda added.
Chitrangda Singh has established herself as a formidable performer ever since Khakee: The Bengal Chapter went live. She portrayed West Bengal's opposition leader, Nibedita Basak, and skilfully combined grit and intensity.
