Chinese actor Yu Menglong, better known by his stage name Alan Yu, died in September after falling from a building. However, there’s a new development in his death case.
The authorities have previously declared the 37-year-old's drunken fall from a building on September 11 to be an accident. However, Yu Menglong’s last text message he sent just before he fell from the building, is now surfacing on the internet.
Yu Menglong warned his mother in his purported text message. The text reads, “Every time I see the money they transfer, I vomit. That money isn’t earned by me, it’s dirty. I must say goodbye now, Mother. They may come and kill me anytime. I’m not joking, and I’m not hallucinating.”
Foul play has been speculated in the initial investigation. However, the text has now raised new questions, with the fans demanding clarification and proof from authorities, including CCTV footage, forensic reports, autopsy results, and witness statements.
Following news that Yu's mother vanished while en route to Beijing for funeral preparations, the situation has gotten worse.
According to a number of Chinese entertainment bloggers, she may be being pressured or silenced by strong forces who want to hide the circumstances surrounding her son's death.
Fearing that important evidence may be withheld, fans have taken to social media to demand updates.
However, other new accusations have been made online in addition to the text message. According to The Vision Times, audio recordings obtained by a neighbour using a peephole allegedly indicate that Yu's abdomen was cut open in order to remove a USB drive.
Law enforcement has not independently confirmed any of these allegations, and they still insist that his death was an accident.
