Actor Vicky Kaushal starrer film Chhaava has been breaking new box office records every day. The actor has received praise for his portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj from prominent personalities. However, the actor has recently recited a poem at a special event organized by MNS President Raj Thackeray on the occasion of Marathi Language Gaurav Day.

The actor took to his Instagram and shared a video from the event. In the video, Vicky expressed his feelings and said, “It is a matter of great importance for me to be present here. For a non-Marathi person, who was born in Maharashtra, who was educated in Maharashtra, who works in Maharashtra, to be on this stage today, that too in Shivaji Park... on the occasion of Marathi Bhasha Gaurav divas... it is a matter of great respect for me.”

Vicky thanked Thackeray for providing him the opportunity to attend the event and shared a funny story. The actor shared, “I was sitting here and all the dignitaries were reciting poems. Then Ashatai (Asha Bhosle) was sitting there. She looked at me with a frightened look and asked, will you also recite the poem? To which I replied, yes. In Marathi? This was her next question, I said again, yes. Asha ma'am said, ''Tauba Tauba'' ..... I will try ma'am.' With great affection and confidence, Vicky Kaushal said that he would recite the poem 'Kana'.”

Vicky further noted that when Raj Thackeray told him that he wanted to recite a poem in Marathi, “I asked him, ‘which poem?’ He said, Kusumagraj's poem, 'Kana'.” Vicky confessed that he did not know the meaning of the word and he asked Thackeray the meaning of the word 'Kana'. He said with great respect that he understood the meaning of the word after watching the film 'Chhava' and started reciting the poem in the video.

Alongside the video, Vicky wrote, “Grateful to Shri Raj Thackarey Ji for making me a part of the ‘Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din’ celebrations yesterday. Honoured to be sharing the stage with the most wonderful and talented minds.”
