Actor Vicky Kaushal starrer film Chhaava continues to dominate the box office collection. The film and Vicky’s acting skills have received compliments from several famous personalities and actor Vijay Vikram Singh added to the praise. Vijay, who stars as Peshwa Neelopant in Chhaava, praised Vicky’s dedication and emotional connection to his role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
In a recent interview with India Today, Vijay reflected on some of the behind-the-scenes moments and revealed that Vicky cried while filming the particular scene that led to three retakes. The actor recalled, “There was a shot where Vicky Kaushal was declared the next Chhatrapati. In that scene, he walked ahead, followed by Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar, and me. We had to retake the shot three times because midway through, Vicky started crying.”
Vijay further praised the dedication of his co-star and shared that Vicky was “overwhelmed by the thought that he was stepping into Sambhaji Maharaj’s shoes as the new Chhatrapati. He was so immersed in the character that he truly felt the weight of his father’s loss and the immense responsibility he was about to take on.”
Vijay recalled another scene and complimented how flawlessly Vicky had channelled Sambhaji Maharaj’s character. He shared. “He used to be Sambhaji Maharaj in that costume.” Vijay also mentioned that despite not being from a Marathi background, Vicky had mastered the dialect, and during rehearsals, he ensured accurate pronunciation of Marathi dialogues.
After the huge success of Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal has a series of projects in the line. He will star as Aurangzeb in Takht alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhat. He is also speculated to star in Luka Chuppi 2 with Sara Ali Khan. He will also star in Love & War and Mahavatar: An Epic Saga.
