In the latest episode of Celebrity MasterChef, contestants were thrown into a one-utensil cooking challenge, testing their adaptability and problem-solving skills in the kitchen.
With Chef Kunal Kapur joining judges Farah Khan and Ranveer Brar, the tension soared as the black apron contestants faced a make-or-break moment.
This week, Faisal Shaikh, Archana Gautam, Usha Nadkarni, Gaurav Khanna, Rajiv Adatia, Nikki Tamboli, and Tejasswi Prakash battled to retain their spots. The catch? They had to prepare their dish using just one cooking tool—making the right choice crucial for success.
While the challenge excited some contestants, Nikki Tamboli was visibly distressed.
She dramatically confessed, “If I have to taste one food, I will use four spoons. I don’t wash utensils. How will I keep washing the same one to cook?”
Choosing a frying pan, she explained, “Dhone ki aadat nahi hai mujhe (I’m not used to washing utensils). I picked a pan that’s easy to clean. I want to play safe because I can cook my fish in it.”

As the cooking began, Nikki turned to Gaurav Khanna, exclaiming, “This is too hard. I have to wash the utensil so many times.” Gaurav, noticing her freshly done nails, teased, “Yes, imagine! You just got a manicure.” Nikki sighed, “I didn’t know I’d face this challenge.”
Adding to the drama, the judges introduced a counter swap twist. While Faisal stayed put due to his previous win, the others had to switch stations.
This left Usha Nadkarni overwhelmed as she swapped with Gaurav, but he reassured her, saying she could handle it.
With rising tension, Chef Kunal advised contestants to experiment with flavours rather than focusing on specific dishes.
