Vikram Bhatt on Aamir Khan finding love in Gauri Spratt at 60: 'If I can get married at 50, why can't Aamir....'

Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt have been dating for 18 months

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently introduced his girlfriend Gauri Spratt to the media at the 60th birthday celebrations. Since then, there have been discussions about Aamir's relationship at this age, but director Vikram Bhatt has come to the actor's defense now.

Speaking with ETimes, director Vikram Bhatt said age is just a number and 'there's no age for finding happiness.'

"Well, if I can get married at 50, why can't Aamir Khan find a partner at 60? Age is just a number. There's no age for finding happiness. As life goes by, it stops being about the excitement of a relationship and sexuality. It starts becoming more and more about companionship and not being lonely," said Vikram Bhatt.

Vikram Bhatt, who has directed Aamir Khan in his hit film Ghulam, said he is happy for his friend and that he's a great guy.

"Having someone to hold your hand, someone to understand you, someone to say that it's going to be alright. I'm very happy for Aamir if he has found that in a person. I wish him the best because he's a great guy and deserves happiness," he further said.

After making his relationship public on the eve of his birthday, Aamir Khan was recently spotted with Gauri for the first time in the public eye. The couple was seen exiting a building.

During an informal meet-and-greet event, Aamir Khan had introduced Gauri to the media.

“She is very soft-spoken, and I am very close to her. She is my life partner now. Right now, we are life partners, but yes, we will see.” His statement hinted at a possible marriage in the future.

News Agency PTI quoted Aamir Khan as saying, "I thought it would be a nice occasion for you all to meet her; besides, we won't have to keep hiding. She met Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan last night. She is from Bangalore, and we knew each other for 25 years. But we connected a year and a half ago. She happened to be in Mumbai, and we met accidentally; we kept in touch, and then it all happened organically."

Talking about Aamir Khan's personal life, he was previously married to Reena Dutta and later to director Kiran Rao.

Aamir and Reena have two kids from their marriage—Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. Junaid made his debut as an actor recently. Last March, his daughter Ira tied the knot with Nupur Shikhare. Aamir got married to Kiran Rao in 2005, and the two separated in 2021. They co-parent their son, Azad, and are often spotted together.

Aamir Khan is currently working on his next film, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is likely to release on Christmas this year. The film also stars Genelia D'Souza and Darsheel Safary.
