Caveman spotted in Mumbai is NOT Aamir Khan, actor's team issues a statement

A viral video of a caveman-like figure roaming Mumbai streets sparked rumors it was Aamir Khan. The actor's recent caveman ad photos added fuel to the speculation, with many believing it was him despite the lack of confirmation.

Caveman and Aamir Khan

A video circulating online this week caused quite a stir in Mumbai. It showed a man wandering the streets dressed in a way that resembled a caveman – long, unkempt hair and beard, and a rough, primitive-looking outfit. The video quickly spread, and many people began speculating that the caveman was none other than Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. The resemblance, combined with recent photos of Aamir in a caveman costume for an advertisement, fueled the rumors.

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the man walking down the middle of a road, pushing a cart, and rummaging through plastic. His disheveled appearance and unusual attire immediately caught people's attention. The timing of the video's emergence, just after images of Aamir Khan in a similar caveman outfit for an ad campaign surfaced, led many to believe it was the actor himself.

However, the speculation was quickly put to rest. A source close to Aamir Khan issued a statement to the media, clarifying that the man in the video is not Aamir Khan.1 The statement firmly denied any connection between the actor and the mysterious caveman, asking people not to believe the rumors.

The video sparked a variety of reactions online. Some people expressed concern about the man's behavior, questioning why he was "disturbing people in public places." Others directly asked if it was Aamir Khan, wondering if it was some kind of promotional stunt. Many, however, were skeptical, commenting that the man in the video didn't resemble Aamir.

The confusion is understandable, given the recent release of photos from an advertisement featuring Aamir Khan dressed as a caveman. In the ad, Aamir is seen dancing with a group of other "cave people" while enjoying a beverage.2 These images, combined with the video of the unidentified man, created the perfect storm for rumors to spread. The close timing of the two events – the ad photos and the video – made it easy for people to connect the dots, even though the connection was false.

This incident highlights how quickly misinformation can spread online. In the age of social media, rumors and speculation can take on a life of their own, often without any basis in reality.
