BTS member Suga, also known as Min Yoongi, has taken another step forward in his mission to support children with autism. His Min Yoongi Treatment Centre for autism care, built in collaboration with Seoul’s Severance Hospital, is now recruiting volunteers to join its MIND Band, an instrumental group designed to help children on the autism spectrum through music.

The initiative follows Suga’s landmark donation of 5 billion KRW (around $3.64 million) earlier this year, just weeks after his military discharge in June 2025. That contribution was the largest single donation ever made to Yonsei Medical Center and its affiliated children’s hospital, cementing his legacy as both a global superstar and a philanthropist.

The MIND Band is part of the broader MIND Program, co-developed by Suga and Severance Hospital’s Pediatric Psychiatry Department. MIND stands for Music, Interaction, Network and Diversity. The program blends musical content into social skills training for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through structured sessions of singing, playing instruments, and writing lyrics, participants are encouraged to communicate, express emotions, and build lasting social connections.

Located in Seoul’s Seodaemun district, the Min Yoongi Treatment Centre has become a hub for innovative autism therapy. Music is at its heart, offering not only clinical support but also joy, confidence, and creativity to children who often struggle with traditional forms of expression.

Between March and June this year, Suga spent his weekends volunteering at the centre. He worked directly with children, teaching them to play instruments and witnessing firsthand how music could transform their social interactions. Those close to the program noted the visible improvement in children’s ability to express themselves and connect with peers.

Fans around the world have flooded social media with love and admiration for Suga’s efforts. On X, one fan wrote, “He will always be our biggest pride.” Another commented, “He is genius and generous heart. To spend his own time and money to help others, it’s a good deed indeed. Very proud to stan a man like Min Yoongi.”

For BTS fans and autism advocates alike, the MIND Band is a powerful reminder of how music can transcend entertainment and serve as a tool for healing. And for Suga, it’s a continuation of a vision where art, compassion, and community meet.
