The speculations around BTS' Jimin and actress Song Da-eun have finally been addressed. HYBE has confirmed that the two were once briefly involved but emphasised that the relationship ended years ago.

Rumours linking Jimin and Song Da-eun have circulated online since 2022. Fans pointed out supposed similarities between her social media activity and the singer’s private life. The chatter intensified recently after Song uploaded a cryptic video, which some interpreted as Jimin recognising her outside an elevator in his Seoul residence. While fans dissected the clip, industry insiders clarified that the footage was not recent and dated back to when the two were acquainted.

One source was quoted by Allkpop saying, “They were briefly involved in the past. Most of the photos and videos Song Da-Eun uploaded were taken back then.” Another added that the timeline of their relationship remained unclear, but what was certain was that they were no longer together. Jimin, who has been fulfilling his mandatory military service since 2023, has had no contact with the actress in recent years.

Adding to the speculation, a past interview excerpt resurfaced online, featuring longtime BTS producer Pdogg. He had shared that Jimin struggled with the concept of writing a serenade for his solo album Muse, once questioning, “Am I even capable of loving someone?” While some fans took this as a contradiction to the dating rumours, others defended that artistic reflections should not be taken as literal accounts of personal life.

On Sunday, HYBE released an official statement to settle the matter. “The artist and the counterpart did form a relationship based on their mutual feelings for one another, but that was many years ago, and the two are not in a relationship as of this moment,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, Song Da-eun has also faced heightened scrutiny. Earlier in 2025, she announced legal action against those spreading defamatory rumours, including false links to the Burning Sun scandal.
