Actor Lee Chae-min has been gaining widespread attention for his performance in the popular K-drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty. The show has captured audiences’ hearts with its unique blend of romance, comedy, and fantasy, and stars actress Im Yoon-ah in the lead role.

The popularity of the drama has been greatly aided by Lee Chae-min's portrayal of Prince Yeon-hee, a tyrant with a fine sense of taste who skilfully blends romantic and humorous moments.

He threw himself into the role, even though he was only cast a month before filming started, and soon became proficient in action scenes, archery, horseback riding, and even the traditional Cheoyongmu dance.

Actress Im Yoon-ah praised his dedication, saying, “Even though he had very little preparation time, he came fully equipped. At times, I felt like he was just being ‘Lee Chae-min himself.’”

The plot of Bon Appetit, Your Majesty revolves around the tyrannical King Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min), whose unmatched sense of taste shapes the story, and Chef Yeon Ji-young (played by Lim Yoon-a), who inexplicably time-slips to the past at the height of her career.

With each new episode, the show breaks its own viewership records and generates a lot of excitement in South Korea and abroad.

The Chosun Daily reports that, according to Nielsen Korea data, Episode 10 averaged 15.9% and peaked at 17.6% in the capital region and 15.8% and 17.3% nationally.

The show had the highest ratings of any miniseries this year and ranked first across all channels, including terrestrial broadcasters, during its time slot. Additionally, it took the top spot in Netflix's Global TOP10 (Non-English TV), highlighting the K-dramas' expanding global appeal.

According to the Korea Enterprise Reputation Research Institute, Lee Chae-min topped the actor brand reputation rankings for September, which further emphasises his growing popularity.

Fans need not worry about his departure from Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, which is set to conclude this week. Lee Chae-min is already set to appear as a fresh face in the upcoming Netflix original Cashiero, slated for release in the second half of this year.
