When news broke of travel influencer and photographer Anunay Sood’s passing at just 32, the shock rippled across the travel creator community. For years, Anunay had built a reputation for cinematic visuals, mountain escapades, and a passion for capturing landscapes that felt almost dreamlike. With more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram, and recognition in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list across three years, he had positioned himself among the most influential names in the Indian travel circuit.
His story was also closely tied to fellow travel creator Brinda Sharma. Their relationship became a subject of public interest long before their breakup, and the conversations around their bond resurfaced after his death.
According to discussions among longtime followers, Anunay and Brinda met around 2018 or 2019, likely during trips that revolved around the mountains.
At the time, Anunay was already known online, while Brinda was working in a completely different field. Travel became the shared space where they connected. One thing led to another, and soon she appeared alongside him in travel shoots and vlogs. Over time, she became a creator in her own right, building her own audience and voice.
Their relationship moved quickly. They travelled frequently, worked together, and eventually got engaged. Anunay shared their proposal video in February 2022, filmed against snowy mountain peaks.
It was symbolic: the mountains were where their story began, and where he chose to take the next step. The engagement, as some followers later speculated, had taken place much earlier, but the video release made it public to the world.
Yet, after a few years, the engagement ended. The split wasn’t dramatic or messy in public. Instead, it showed up quietly at first—fewer joint posts, no birthday mentions, silence during trips. Followers noticed.
The confirmation came in mid-2024 when Anunay addressed the breakup in a Q&A video. He explained that while the audience saw their happiest travel moments, the reality behind the scenes was different. Relationships are layered, he said, and they had differences that couldn’t be resolved. They chose to part ways, peacefully, and continued to wish each other well.
In the months after, both moved forward with their lives. Anunay continued to travel extensively, posting from new destinations with the same love for exploration he always had. His final posts showed him in Las Vegas, just days before his family announced his passing. The cause of death has not been disclosed, and his family has asked for privacy as they grieve.
