Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, has long been surrounded by intrigue, speculation, and endless memes. His flamboyant outfits, omnipresence at Bollywood parties, and easy camaraderie with star kids have made him one of India’s most recognisable pop-culture fixtures. But long before his current wave of virality, Orry made headlines for a different reason: his personal beliefs on gender identity and intimacy.
In an old interview on The Suvir Saran Show, Orry spoke with surprising straightforwardness about topics that often fuel debate. While he is known for his eccentricity and deliberately mysterious public persona, he had taken a much more grounded stance in that conversation.
He candidly shared that he believes in only two genders and advocates “no intimacy before marriage.” His views sparked conversations at the time due to his otherwise unconventional lifestyle.
"There are only two genders. I am a firm believer of only two genders," Orry said to Suvir.
He further explained, "I don't believe in sex prior to marriage. People don't realise this about me but I am actually very conservative. Like do everything else, do whatever you want. And it's fine if you do it. I am not ere judging anyone, or maybe I am. But I personally don't believe in sex before marriage."
In another interview, Orry also addressed persistent rumours head-on, stating, “I am not gay. I know people like to guess, but I don’t feel the need to explain myself all the time.”
For years, Orry’s charismatic ambiguity and fashion-forward persona have led the internet to form its own narratives around him. His old-fashioned views on relationships and gender norms contrast sharply with the larger-than-life, avant-garde image he projects online, making him an even more curious figure.
