Vir Das’ directorial debut Happy Patel unveiled; Aamir Khan playfully ‘schools’ him over his 'flop' spy film

The makers unveiled the project through a hilariously unconventional announcement video featuring both Aamir Khan and Vir Das.

Aamir Khan Productions has officially announced Happy Patel, a quirky spy entertainer that marks the directorial debut of Vir Das. The film, headlined by Vir Das and Mona Singh, has been introduced to audiences in a manner as amusing and playful as its title.

The makers unveiled the project through a hilariously unconventional announcement video featuring both Aamir Khan and Vir Das. In the video, Aamir is seen questioning Vir’s unusual approach to incorporating elements like action, romance, and even an item number into the film.

The video then jumps back in time, revealing Aamir’s growing frustration with Vir for creating what he believes is a doomed spy film that lacks proper action and doesn’t even include a love track.

The comical clip also features moments where Vir is told to stick to stand-up comedy and is teased for suddenly taking on the role of an “item girl,” adding to the playful tone of the announcement.

Despite Aamir appearing concerned about how audiences might perceive these choices, the video simultaneously cuts to various people enthusiastically praising the film.
