Over the years, Varun Dhawan hasn’t just built a successful career in Bollywood — he’s also formed meaningful friendships along the way.
Having shared the screen with stars like Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, Varun has often spoken about the comfort and trust that comes from working with familiar faces. But when it comes to his closest co-star right now, Janhvi Kapoor holds a special place.
On January 6, 2026, Varun Dhawan took to X for a fun and candid Q&A session with fans, answering everything from film-related questions to more personal ones.
One X user took this opportunity to ask the Badlapur actor to stop doing pathetic movies and Varun had the best reply for him.
The user wrote, "Bhai aren't u serious Abt ur comeback? Stop doing pathetic movies like SSKTK in the name of versatility..... #varunsays"
To which Varun replied, "Chalo film phir bhi chal gaye thodi. App theatre jata rehna mein #border 2 might surprise u since ur taste is amazing #varunsays"
One fan asked a question many were eager to hear the answer to: “A co-star who is one of your bestest friends?” Without hesitation, Varun responded honestly.
The Student of the Year actor shared that he is “pretty close” to Janhvi Kapoor, with whom he has worked on Bawaal and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Their repeated collaborations seem to have translated into a strong off-screen bond. In the same reply, Varun also mentioned Kriti Sanon, calling her a good friend after working together on films like Dilwale and Bhediya.
Varun didn’t stop there. He also spoke warmly about his Border 2 co-stars Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, recalling how much he enjoyed working with them. Sharing his thoughts openly, he wrote, “I’m pretty close to Janhi also Kriti is a good friend. O had a great time working with ahaan and Diljit recently #varunsays.” The message reflected his easygoing nature and the importance he places on genuine connections.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in 2025’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, where he starred alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. He also made a cameo appearance as Bhediya in Thamma, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
Looking ahead, Varun is gearing up for the release of Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar.
The patriotic action drama, which also stars Sunny Deol, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana, is set to hit cinemas on January 23, 2026.
Adding to the excitement, Varun Dhawan will once again collaborate with his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, on Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, marking their fourth project together.
