In the middle of the heated online chatter surrounding Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas, actress Triptii Dimri has made what fans are calling a “classy statement without words.”

The Animal star, who replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead, recently liked a social media reel defending Deepika — a move that many saw as a subtle yet powerful show of solidarity.

The reel, posted by celebrity saree draper Dolly Jain, praised Deepika’s incredible dedication and work ethic. In the video, Dolly recalled how Deepika performed the now-iconic “Nagada Sang Dhol” sequence from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela barefoot, enduring bleeding and swollen feet from the weight of a 30-kilogram lehenga and the demanding choreography.

Deepika Padukone's first collaboration with Vanga was Spirit, where she was originally paired opposite Prabhas. It has been reported that the actress left the project due to creative and contractual disagreements.

Industry insiders claim that Deepika asked for an eight hour shift after becoming a mother, a cut of the movie's earnings, and a higher fee, all of which the production team was unable to provide.

After her exit, Triptii Dimri, who became one of Bollywood’s most sought-after talents after her breakout role in Animal, was announced as the new female lead. While her casting excited fans, it also sparked speculation about tensions between Deepika and the Kabir Singh director.

Shortly after Deepika’s departure, Sandeep Reddy Vanga made headlines for a series of cryptic social media posts. Without naming anyone directly, he accused an actor of violating an “unsaid NDA” and revealing story details post-narration. He also wrote, “Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?” signing off with #dirtyPRgames.

Amid all the noise, Triptii’s quiet act of liking a post that highlighted Deepika’s professionalism offered a breath of calm. Fans interpreted it as her way of choosing respect over rivalry — and it didn’t go unnoticed.

“Graceful, classy, and empathetic — that’s how you handle controversy,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Others hailed Triptii for “standing with another woman without saying a word.”

In an industry often clouded by competition and speculation, Triptii Dimri’s subtle gesture has reminded everyone that sometimes, silence really does speak the loudest.
