The much-anticipated Dhanush–Kriti Sanon romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein finally arrived in cinemas on 28 November, after weeks of building excitement.
With its intense trailer, soulful music and the return of the Dhanush–Aanand L Rai collaboration, audiences were eager to see whether the film would match the hype.
And now, with two days of box office numbers in, the film seems to be finding its rhythm.
The most recent data shows that Tere Ishk Mein maintained its consistent performance on Saturday, earning Rs 17 crore, a minor increase over Friday's opening of Rs 16 crore. This brings the film’s two-day total to an encouraging Rs 33 crore—a promising sign for a romance-driven drama.
What’s even more impressive is how quickly the film has climbed the ladder. In just 48 hours, it has already overtaken the lifetime earnings of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency (Rs 23.75 crore). However, it still has a long way to go if it aims to beat Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, which stands tall with a lifetime figure of Rs 55.8 crore. The upcoming weekday trends will determine just how high Dhanush and Kriti’s film can soar.
Tere Ishk Mein tells the tale of Mukti (Kriti Sanon), a vibrant young lady who develops feelings for the wild, untamed Shankar (Dhanush). They first connect in the carefree world of college, where rules don't really matter and emotions run high.
However, life has other ideas, and Mukti is forced to leave, leaving Shankar devastated.
Dhanush's character descends into anger and obsession as a result of his inability to handle the heartbreak. His promise to burn "entire Delhi" out of love perfectly encapsulates the film's insane intensity.
Backed by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions, the project brings together renowned producers Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The soundtrack—composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
