Senior Advocate Maninder Singh, appearing on behalf of Priya Sachdev Kapur, argued before the court that the application filed by Mandhira Kapur Smith was not maintainable at the current stage of the proceedings. He informed the court that he did not wish to submit a written reply to the application at the moment but would reserve his right to present legal arguments on the matter.

Mandhira Kapur Smith had appeared before the court in response to a notice that had been issued to her during the previous hearing. In compliance with the court’s direction, she filed her formal reply to the defamation complaint initiated by Priya Sachdev Kapur.

The application was opposed by Priya Sachdev Kapur’s legal counsel.

Earlier, the court had sought a response from actor Karisma Kapoor after Priya Sachdev Kapur filed a plea requesting certified copies of court records related to divorce proceedings involving the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur.
