Central security agencies are reportedly assessing a potential threat to Amitabh Bachchan after his recent interaction with Diljit Dosanjh on Kaun Banega Crorepati triggered backlash from Khalistani groups.

According to sources cited by CNN-News18, agencies fear an attempt could be made against Amitabh Bachchan, following threats linked to the episode where Diljit Dosanjh appeared as a celebrity guest. The controversy erupted after the singer was seen touching Big B’s feet which was condemned by the separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

SFJ’s chief, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, issued a warning. He accused Diljit of “dishonouring Sikh victims” of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by paying respect to Amitabh Bachchan. The organisation continues to allege Big B of playing a role in inciting violence after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination.

“By touching feet of Bachchan the man whose words orchestrated Genocide, Diljit Dosanjh has insulted every victim, every widow, and every orphan of 1984 Sikh Genocide,” the group said in a statement.

SFJ has long claimed that Amitabh Bachchan used inflammatory slogans during the riots. They allege that Amitabh Bachchan, on October 31, 1984, had “publicly incited Hindustani mobs with the genocidal slogan ‘Khoon Ka Badla Khoon’ – ‘Blood for Blood’,” and that more than 30000 Sikh men, women and children were killed across India in the aftermath.

Pannun also threatened to disrupt Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura 2025 concert in Melbourne on November 1. In response, local police and intelligence units have elevated the threat level to “moderate to high” (Level 2) amid fears of protests or targeted disruption.

Officials in Australia reportedly believe that SFJ’s latest actions are part of a “coordinated influence operation” designed to amplify anti-India narratives abroad. The group has been using social media hashtags such as #BoycottDiljit and #PanthicJustice on platforms like X and Instagram.

As of now, neither Amitabh Bachchan nor Diljit Dosanjh has issued an official statement.
