Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer-filmmaker Palaash Muchhal were all set to tie the knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. However, the wedding was postponed unexpectedly, fueling multiple speculations and rumours.
However, singer Palak Muchhal has finally opened up about the emotional toll her family has been dealing with after the wedding was put on hold. The singer has addressed the situation for the first time.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Palak described the time as extremely challenging and said, “I think the families have been through a very, very tough time we would like to believe in positivity in this time and spread positivity as much as we can. And stay strong yeah.”
For the unversed, Smriti and Palaash's pre-wedding festivities were in full swing, with several photos and videos from the fairytale proposal and Haldi ceremony going viral on social media.
However, the wedding was unexpectedly put on hold after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill on the wedding day. He was rushed to a hospital in Sangli after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack.
Just a day after Smriti’s hospitalisation, Palaash was also hospitalised in Sangli before being transferred to Mumbai for further assessment.

The hospitalisations fueled several rumours, with several screenshots of chat allegedly of Palaash going viral. The chat accused Palaash of cheating.
The health concerns led both families to decide to put the wedding on hold.
While Smriti and Palaash are yet to address the upcoming development publicly, both have recently added an evil eye emoji to their social media bios.
