Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Thamma, is now set to collaborate with Hollywood actor Ilia Volok, best known for his roles in Mission Impossible, G.I. Joe, and Indiana Jones.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Nawazuddin will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in a heist drama tentatively titled Faraar. Ilia Volok will play the film’s antagonist, while Nawaz takes on the role of a Physics professor.
The report also mentioned that Dabba Cartel actress Nimisha Sajayan is likely to be part of the project. Adding to the excitement, Spanish composer Ivan Lacamara — known for his work on Money Heist — has joined the team to create the film’s background score.
Director Kushagra Sharma shared that he wanted to redefine how villains are portrayed on screen, which led to the casting of Ilia Volok opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
“Casting Ilia Volok opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui was a creative decision driven by the desire to reintroduce the essence of a powerful, layered villain while breaking away from conventional portrayals. As cinema becomes increasingly global, it is essential to bring together two performers who embody depth, intensity, and authenticity,” he said, as quoted by the publication.
While Nawazuddin has not yet officially confirmed the news, fans are already eager to see this unique pairing.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin will next be seen in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Thamma, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, which is set to release on October 21, 2025.
