Karan Johar recalls meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time as he wishes him on his 60th birthday: "You’re an emotion"

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar share one of Bollywood’s most enduring friendships, built over decades of working together and supporting each other through life’s highs and lows. On SRK’s 60th birthday, Karan marked the occasion with a deeply emotional post and a nostalgic photo that took fans down memory lane.

Taking to Instagram, Karan shared a video montage of his moments with Shah Rukh Khan as well as the superstar's clips from his movies. His post is a testimony of their lifelong friendship that has stood strong for nearly thirty years — both on and off the screen.

In his heartfelt note, Karan wrote, “I have such a vivid and distinct memory of meeting you, Bhai, on the sets of Karan Arjun. I went expecting the aura and magic of a rising superstar but instead met a magical man with a beating heart… Probably the best husband, best father, best son-in-law, best brother, and the best friend anyone can have!”

He went on to express his love and admiration, adding, “Your consistent kindness and generosity of spirit is just as iconic as your wide open arms (which should be officialised as a national gesture), Bhai… The cinema, love, and joy you’ve given to millions make you more than a mega movie star — you’re an emotion. I love you so much, Bhai. Thank you for being there through thick and thin and being family to Yash, Roohi, Mom, and me. Always and forever… Happy Birthday! This decade, like every decade, will be yours!”

Shah Rukh celebrated his 60th birthday with a midnight party surrounded by his closest friends. Karan Johar, who was part of the celebration, shared a playful selfie with Rani Mukerji, teasing fans with the caption, “Guess the photo bomber?” — as Ananya Panday could be seen smiling in the background. Farah Khan and Navya Naveli Nanda were also present at the gathering, adding to the star-studded affair.
