Karan Johar marks 9 years of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with behind-the-scenes memories, writes "the most personal film I have ever made"

Karan Johar celebrates Ae Dil Hai Mushkil milestone

Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer romance drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil recently completed nine years, and Karan Johar celebrated the milestone with a special social media post.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram and shared a series of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes pictures from the film.

The director, who referred to the romantic drama as "perhaps the most personal film" he has ever made, relived memories from the sets with the actors in a heartfelt post.

Alongside the pics, he penned in the caption, “One year short of a decade and it honestly feels like yesterday when I was on set of perhaps the most personal film I have ever made…”

The filmmaker expressed gratitude towards the fans and added, “Thank you for letting Ae Dil Hai Mushkil grow…for breathing life and love into it till now!! #AeDilHaiMushkil.”

Karan posted an artistic picture of himself with Ranbir, a picture of him dancing with Anushka in her yellow saree against a mountain backdrop, and a private conversation with Aishwarya are among the candid moments that can be seen in the carousel of photos.

Additional images show the crew having fun and being friendly on set, which reflects the emotional bond that characterised the movie.

Besides lead actors Ranbir as Ayan Sanger and Anushka as Alizeh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Fawad Khan, and Lisa Haydon also played important roles in the romantic drama, which was released on October 28, 2016, during Diwali. Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan also made brief cameos in the movie.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was written, produced, and directed by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions, was renowned for its memorable soundtrack in addition to its perplexing relationship dynamics.
