As Karan Johar commemorated 27 years of his legendary debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the director took a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

One of Bollywood's most beloved classics, the romantic drama from 1998, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Salman Khan, defined an era and is still adored by viewers worldwide.

To mark the milestone, Karan shared a series of rare behind-the-scenes photographs on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into life on the sets of the film that launched him as a director.

The unscripted photos capture tender and personal moments, such as Karan guiding Shah Rukh and Rani in a scene, Kajol having a light-hearted chat with Karan's late father, Yash Johar, and the entire crew cooperating flawlessly.

Reema Lagoo, Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh, and Farah Khan are among the well-known faces that appear in the photo set, which captures the contagious energy and camaraderie that made the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai team so unforgettable.

Sharing the photos, Karan captioned,

“27 years!!! Some beautiful and candid memories from our set of #KuchKuchHotaHai… a set filled with love, too much banter, and happiness. Thank you to everyone for the love you continue to give this film… It means everything to me! @dharmamovies.”

Kajol, who starred as Anjali, was quick to respond to the post, commenting, “The bestest feelings ever.” Her simple but heartfelt message summed up the emotional nostalgia shared by fans and the film’s cast alike.

However, not everyone was entirely pleased. Within hours, fans began pointing out the absence of Salman Khan in the photographs. Comments flooded Karan’s post, with one user writing, “And where is Salman Khan, who helped you the most in making this film, if I'm not wrong? Ungrateful.”

Another remarked, “Where is Aman’s pic in your post that was best cameo till today.” Others echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Why haven't we seen pictures of Salman Khan? His role in the film was amazing.”

Despite having little on-screen time, Salman's portrayal of Kajol's fiancé, Aman, in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, made an impact. The story's dramatic turn came from his charm and depth of feeling, which made the love triangle unforgettable.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is still praised more than 20 years later for its classic songs, memorable lines, and Shah Rukh and Kajol's enchanted chemistry, demonstrating that some tales never go out of style.
