Kuch Kuch Hota Hai turned 27

Filmmaker Karan Johar is celebrating 27 years of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji’s classic romance drama, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film was released in 1998 and is still continues to captivate fans.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram and shared a series of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes pictures of the film.

Alongside the pics, the filmmaker wrote in the caption, “27 years!!! Some beautiful and candid memories from our set of #KuchKuchHotaHai…a set filled with love, too much banter and happiness,” adding a heart emoji.

Meanwhile, the official Instagram handle of the production house Dharma Production also celebrated the milestone. They shared a video montage featuring iconic dialogues of the film with the caption, “A film that will always make you say, “Tussi jaa rahe ho, tussi na jao.””

The caption concluded, “Celebrating #27YearsOfKuchKuchHotaHai – a story that redefined pyaar, dosti and everything in between for generations to come.”

Previously, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol reunited at the stage of the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025, with Gujarat Tourism, on October 11. The duo left the audience feeling nostalgic as Shah Rukh and Kajol performed the classic song, 'Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai'.

The performance took the fans back to the heyday of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Even after winning hearts in 1998, Rahul and Anjali continue to have a special place in Bollywood history.

About Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai revolves around a tomboyish Anjali (Kajol) who loves Rahul aka Shah Rukh, her best college pal, but is anguished when he decides to wed Tina (Rani), a fellow collegian. Eight years later, widower Rahul's daughter is told to reunite him with Anjali.

The film also features a cameo role of Salman Khan.
