Imran Khan is officially returning to the big screen after nearly a decade, and the announcement has already sent a wave of excitement across Bollywood fans. The actor, who stepped away from films following his 2015 release Katti Batti, will make his comeback in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and slated for a January 16, 2026 theatrical release.
The announcement was made by Aamir Khan Productions, which unveiled a playful, three-minute teaser on X. Along with it came a caption brimming with humour and intrigue, “From kya banaya to kya banaya. Get ready for a wild ride of comedy, action, romance, and some spy stuff as well. Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, in theatres only from January 16, 2026.”
The teaser itself features director Vir Das and Aamir Khan in a lighthearted conversation about the film’s destiny. In the clip, Aamir initially appears unimpressed with Vir’s narration, leaving the filmmaker visibly anxious. However, the mood shifts dramatically after a test screening, where the audience shower the film with praise. A visibly relieved and delighted Aamir congratulates Vir, setting a humorous tone for what the movie promises to deliver. Fans also spotted Imran Khan in the teaser, appearing with slightly dishevelled hair at the 2:57 timestamp.
