Farah Khan defends Tees Maar Khan being a flop

Bollywood’s multi-talented Farah Khan has been making quite a splash on social media lately — not just with her creative projects, but by passionately defending her 2010 comedy Tees Maar Khan from critics who still call it a flop.

When an Instagram page joked about secretly loving the movie despite it being a “flop,” Farah didn’t hold back.

She jumped in to clear the air, saying, “Just for your knowledge, it made ₹60 crore then! Not a flop… just ripped apart.”

Her reply quickly went viral, sparking a lively debate online. Fans flocked to Reddit to share their thoughts — many agreeing with Farah and celebrating the film’s quirky charm.

One user called the hit song Sheila Ki Jawani the best part, while another admitted they’ve watched the movie multiple times, even if only in bits.

Another pointed out that Tees Maar Khan was way ahead of its time, a spoof that didn’t fit the usual Bollywood mould back then but has gained a cult following thanks to memes and nostalgia.

Of course, not everyone was convinced. Some Redditors stuck to their guns, telling Farah it was time to accept that the film wasn’t a hit. But that’s the thing with movies — love or hate, they always spark conversation.

For those who might have forgotten, Tees Maar Khan follows Akshay Kumar as Tabrez Mirza Khan, a charming con artist with a plan to steal a train full of antiques by pretending to shoot a film. Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna round out the lively cast in this over-the-top, laugh-out-loud comedy.

Despite mixed reviews, the film earned around Rs 100 crore worldwide on a Rs 35 crore budget — pretty solid by any standard.

And of course, it gifted Bollywood one of its most iconic dance numbers, Sheila Ki Jawani, which still gets everyone on the dance floor.

Farah has always been a force in Bollywood, with hits like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om under her belt. Recently, she even choreographed a song for Aryan Khan’s directorial debut.

She has gained popularity outside of movies thanks to her amusing cooking videos with her housekeeper, Dilip, demonstrating that her charm is not limited to the big screen.
