Actress Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, has been granted a firearm license by the Bareilly district authorities, a senior official confirmed on Sunday.
According to the Free Press Journal, Bareilly District Magistrate Avnish Singh shared that Patani had applied for a gun license shortly after the attack on his home.
He received a revolver/pistol licence following the completion of all necessary inspections and processes.
After a terrifying incident in which armed men targeted Disha's ancestral home, the retired DSP asked the District Magistrate for permission. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, gave him assurances that adequate security and protection would be offered following the attack.
For those who might not know, the attack happened on September 12, 2025, when two men riding motorcycles fired almost ten rounds close to Patani's home. A case was promptly filed by the Kotwali police.
Five days later, on September 17, a combined team from the Delhi Police, Haryana STF, and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) located and killed Ravindra and Arun, the suspects, in a confrontation in Ghaziabad.
