Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone has once again captured hearts, not through a film release or a dazzling red-carpet moment, but with a simple, heartfelt change on social media.
The actress recently updated her Instagram display picture, and it’s already melting hearts across the internet.
Her new profile photo features the words “In My Mom Era” written in bold letters against a calm, earthy background — a subtle yet beautiful nod to her journey into motherhood.
Fans were quick to flood the comments with love, calling it the beginning of Deepika’s “most beautiful era yet.”
Deepika and Ranveer Singh welcomed their baby girl in September 2024, and after much anticipation, the couple revealed her name Dua in November.
The name, which means ‘prayer’ in Arabic, was inspired by poetry and music, both of which hold a special place in Deepika’s heart.
The actress, who has always been open about her desire to have children, recently spoke to CNBC TV18 about how becoming a mother has changed her life in the most rewarding ways.
“I've always been a patient person. My tolerance levels and patience levels are very high, but I think it teaches you patience. And it pushes you out of your comfort zone. It's pushed me out of my comfort zone in so many ways,” she said.
She also shared how motherhood has helped her step out of her shell socially — something she admits has never come naturally to her.
“It's made me more social. I've never been a social person. Having to interact with other parents and now playschool... These words feel so funny suddenly. But I just think motherhood really pushes you out of your comfort zone, in a good way. At least for me, it's been in a good way.”

Deepika, who has often spoken about her close bond with her sister Anisha, added, “I've always wanted to be a mother. I wanted to be a mother from the time Anisha was born, so if I may say, I'm probably playing the best role of my life now and enjoying every bit of it.”
Both Deepika and Ranveer have made it clear that they want Dua to have a childhood free from the glare of fame. They have chosen not to share her photos online and even requested paparazzi to respect her privacy.
“We want her to have the same normal upbringing I had, where I wasn’t burdened by my parents’ fame,” Deepika said.
