Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has issued a public statement after discovering that someone has been impersonating her on WhatsApp.

The actor revealed that an unknown individual had been using her photos and pretending to be her while contacting photographers with fake “photoshoot” requests.

To prevent anyone from falling for the scam, Aditi posted a detailed warning on social media, urging fans, colleagues, and industry professionals to stay cautious.

On Sunday, Aditi shared a notice on Instagram explaining the situation. Her message read, "I wanted to flag something that a few people brought to my notice today. Someone has been pretending to be me on WhatsApp, using my pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’."

She went on to clarify, "It isn’t me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team. Please be careful and don’t engage with that number. If you come across anything odd, just let my team know. Thank you all for those who have my back and are so protective and kind."

To help in identifying the impostor, Aditi also shared a screenshot of the phoney WhatsApp profile. She was praised by many fans and social media users for swiftly resolving the issue and for instructing everyone on what to do in the event that they receive dubious messages purporting to be from her.
