Blue Dragon Series Awards 2025

The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards turned Incheon’s Paradise City Resort into a spectacle of glam and gratitude on July 18, as South Korea celebrated its best in streaming entertainment. Organised by Sports Chosun, the awards have swiftly evolved into a hallmark for excellence in the OTT space, honouring standout dramas, variety shows, and digital performances from platforms like Netflix, TVING, and Wavve.

The night belonged to Netflix’s ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’, which swept the awards circuit with three major wins — Grand Prize (Daesang), Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.

IU (Lee Ji-eun) won Best Actress for her layered portrayal of Ae-sun and Geum-myeong. In her acceptance speech, IU called the show “the greatest pride of my life,” dedicating her win to the real-life inspirations behind her characters.

Yeom Hye-Ran, praised for her resonant performance, took home Best Supporting Actress, while Park Bo-Gum accepted the Best Show award on behalf of the team, applauding the ensemble cast, including child actors and senior co-star Park Hae Joon.

Netflix's The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call claimed Best Drama, with Ju Ji-Hoon winning Best Actor for his gripping lead performance. Rising star Choo Young-Woo was honoured as Best New Actor.

In the world of unscripted entertainment, Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars snagged Best Variety Show, while Kian84 and Lee Soo-Ji were named Best Entertainers for their work in Kian’s Bizarre B&B and SNL Korea.

The Upbit Popularity Stars, awarded via fan votes, were bagged by four fan-favourites - IU, Park Bo-Gum, Hyeri, and Lee Jun-Hyuk. Meanwhile, rising girl group KiiiKiii and viral sensation JAESSBEE set the stage ablaze with explosive performances.
