BLACKPINK's Rosé has recently created history by becoming K-pop artist to earn a staggering eight 2025 MTV Video Music Award nominations. However, the K-pop sensation has reflected on the milestone achievement and expressed her shock.
Rosé took to her Instagram Story and shared a video sharing her speechless reaction to the MTV nods. She said in the video, “So I’ve just heard that I’ve received eight VMA nominations.”
The singer is clearly stunning and emotional in the video. She added, “I am beyond shocked and I just don’t know what to say. I’m absolutely speechless! This is a crazy day! Whoa! It’s really, really wild! What’s happening?!”
Rosé continued expressing her excitement with a screenshot of her nominations and a caption that read simply: “waaaahhh???”
This is the first time that Rosé is nominated as a solo act at the VMAs. However, the singer has notably bagged the nominations in some of the biggest categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects.
Rosé received all the MTV Video Music Award nominations for her chart-topping song, APT. The song has also broken the records at Billboard Hot 100 and bagged the third spot with Bruno Mars.
Besides this, Rosé is also competing in Best K-pop for her solo single, Toxic Til the End, which is the third track from her debut solo album Rosie.
Rosé’s remarkable series of nominations places her among the top contenders this year, tying with Sabrina Carpenter at eight nominations. Only Lady Gaga (12), Bruno Mars (11), and Kendrick Lamar (10) surpass them, with Ariana Grande and The Weeknd trailing just behind with seven each.
