Popular content creator and Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Adnaan Shaikh has spoken out about a painful betrayal that left him financially and emotionally shaken.

In a candid revelation, Adnaan shared that he was cheated out of more than Rs 5 lakh in his gym business by someone he had known since childhood—a person he had considered family.

Adnaan recounted the ordeal in an interview with Hindustan Times, revealing, “The very person I trusted most, someone from my inner circle, mismanaged my gym business and scammed me. It led to the loss of money and theft of costly gym equipment – over rupees 5 lakhs.”

The scam began to unfold in June when the individual, a close friend of Adnaan’s brother, reached out for support. “He was well known to me and my brother. He was more like a friend and also lived close by. I even helped fund his sister’s wedding,” he recalled.

When Adnaan launched his first gym in Mumbai—a dream project years in the making—he entrusted this person with managing the gym’s social media. “Soon he requested a job, and I gave him one in my gym. But sadly, within a year and a half, he broke that trust,” said Adnaan.

At first, he chose to overlook certain financial inconsistencies. “I avoided the prevailing discrepancies in accounts for some time. But then I had to confront him,” he admitted. When challenged, the person initially fabricated a cover-up. “I cross-checked only to know it was a lie. That’s when I realised it was all made up. Eventually, he confessed to stealing around Rs 4 lakh.”

Devastated by the betrayal, Adnaan took legal action and has since adopted a more cautious approach. “After this incident, I’ve become very cautious. It has made it difficult for me to trust new people. Rebuilding that kind of faith takes time.”

Issuing a warning to others, he stated, “I ask all to be cautious about who you trust with your business or personal responsibilities… Learn from my experience. Stay alert, stay aware, and protect your hard-earned money.”
