However, rumours are circulating about the actress’ potential starring role in Season 2 of The Royals. A source close to Netflix has shared updates on the season's development.
The source has claimed that Bhumi will reprise her role as Sophia Shekhar in the upcoming sequel.
The source said, “The Royals Season 2 promises to be more exciting and interesting than the first, with added drama and intrigue. Bhumi Pednekar is being considered for the role of Sophia Shekhar yet again in the second season.”
“She carries the right elements as the character demands, and we're sure she will pull off the character just perfectly. Considering her chemistry with Ishaan Khatter, we are planning on taking the rapport forward,” added the insider.
Netflix’s The Royals received mixed reviews from the fans. The show also features Ishaan Khatter, Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, Nora Fatehi and Dino Morea, among others, in the lead roles. The TV series follows the clash between an entitled prince and a tech startup entrepreneur, exploring their opposing worlds and interactions amid a contemporary fairy tale setting.
