A renowned dermatologist from Bhopal has reportedly fallen victim to a scam involving a false promise of entry into the popular reality television show Bigg Boss back in 2022. The doctor was allegedly duped of Rs 10 lakh by a man posing as an industry insider.
After the doctor, who was identified as Dr. Abhinit Gupta, 36, formally complained at the Chunabhatti police station, the case came to light. According to Dr. Gupta, who lives in Friends Society, Chunabhatti, and owns the Poison Anti-Aging Skin Clinic on Kolar Road, the incident occurred in October 2022.
According to the complaint, a man named Karan Singh, also called Prince, approached Dr. Gupta and identified himself as the director of an event management business with headquarters in Andheri West, Mumbai. According to reports, Singh promised Dr. Gupta that he could guarantee him a spot on Bigg Boss 19 in return for Rs 10 lakh.
However, Dr. Gupta's name was missing from the official list of contestants. He remained excluded even though he had high hopes for the upcoming season.
Karan Singh allegedly started ignoring all calls and messages, so attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. In July 2023, Dr. Gupta finally filed an official complaint after several unsuccessful attempts to get his money back.

The police filed a case against the accused after conducting preliminary investigations, charging them with criminal breach of trust and cheating. Karan Singh is still evading capture despite authorities' efforts to track him down.
