Atul Kulkarni visited Kashmir after Phalagam attack

Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni recently visited Kashmir soon after the Pahalgam terror attack. He documented his Kashmir trip on his social media and praised the hospitality of the locals. He also encouraged people to visit the place in larger numbers and defeat terrorism.

In the series of photos and videos, Kulkarni can be seen enjoying local cuisine, including tea and a bun. He shared a photo posing at the photo booth with the text, “I Love Pahalgham.”

The actor was tagged in a photo of himself buying a cricket bat from the local shop. The shop owner showed gratitude for visiting the place during tough times in the caption and wrote, "@atulkulkarni_official Sir It Was Lovely Hosting You , And Thanku So Much For Coming In These Difficult Times And Showing The Enemies We Aint Afraid, Together We Will Get Over This."

Kulkarni’s latest visit received praise from the social media users and appreciated for his efforts to show support to Kashmir tourism. While several followers penned in the comment, “Chalo Kashmir [Let’s go to Kashmir].” Others wrote, “it’s a great time to show support! So proud of you sir!”

A third internet user commented, “Let’s not abandoned tourism in Kashmir. This will isolate Kashmir, creat economical crisis, creat more hate and will help separatist ultimately.” Another person said, “What a gesture... Chalo kashmir !! Dushman ke irade tod ne."

However, Kulkarni has also reflected on his decision to visit Pahalgam. He insisted that he wanted to give a powerful message to the country. In an interview with ANI, the actor said, “The incident that took place on 22nd April has made the entire country sad. I read that 90 per cent of bookings have been cancelled here. The message that the terrorists are giving is not to come to Kashmir. This is not going to happen.”

He added, “This is our Kashmir, our country, and we will come here. This is the answer we should give to the ideology of terrorists. I could not give this message staying in Mumbai, so I came here. If I can come, then the rest of the country can also come here. We should come here and not get scared.”

Atul Kulkarni’s post came after terrorists linked to Lashkar opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam's Baisaran Meadows, killing 26 people on April 22. Eyewitnesses reported 2-3 men in military attire firing randomly at horseback riders. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack.
