Celebrated artist Laila Khan Furniturewalla marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey with the unveiling of her solo art exhibition, UNTAMED HEART, after a hiatus of 18 years. The exhibition, which explores deeply personal themes of identity, emotion, and transformation, opened with an exclusive preview at Snowball Studios on April 4, 2025.

The event saw an impressive turnout of notable personalities, including Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Khan, Sussanne Khan, Alaya F, Simone and Ajay Arora, Farah Khan Ali, Arti and Kailash Surendranath, Kajol, Raveena Tandon, Shweta Bachchan, Kajal Anand, and many others from the world of entertainment, politics, and the arts.

The showcase was a visual and emotional journey, with Khan’s portraits delving into internal conflicts, self-reflection, and the passage of time. Through her use of layered pigments, reflective materials, and sculptural expression, the exhibition took viewers from figuration to abstraction, offering a space for deep contemplation and raw emotional expression. Laila’s work continues to be celebrated for its intricate technique and its ability to bridge personal experience with universal themes.

Trained at prestigious institutions such as the Slade School of Fine Art and Central Saint Martins in London, Laila Khan has built a reputation both in India and internationally.

Her past exhibitions, including sell-out shows at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, Rossi & Rossi Gallery in London, and ICIA, Mumbai, have established her as a key figure in the contemporary art world. Her works also feature in prominent auctions, fundraisers, and private collections globally.

The exhibition is open to the public at Snowball Studios on 5th and 6th April 2025, followed by a display at Gallery Art & Soul from 16th to 22nd April 2025.

Art curator, author, and critic Uma Nair, who has followed Laila’s career for over two decades, provides an insightful critique of the artist’s evolution, highlighting the depth and thematic richness of UNTAMED HEART.
