Singer and songwriter Arijit Singh surprised his fans with a special performance of Saiyaara's title track at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The singer gave an emotional twist to the song, sending the live audience into a frenzy.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Arijit performed the song with a soulful rendition, which was first performed by Kashmiri artist Faheem Abdullah.
Arijit performed the song during his London concert. However, it was the abrupt change to Saiyaara that astounded the audience and swiftly became a social media sensation.
The audience was left surprised by Arijit's performance of the song, particularly his retro twist. Since then, videos of the concert have gone viral, featuring fans singing along and using their phones to record the touching moment.
The singer also delivered soulful performances on fan favourites like Kesariya, Kabira, Bulleya, and Mast Magan.
Irshad Kamil penned the lyrics for the song Saiyaara, which was composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami and featured in the recently released movie of the same name. The movie, which starred newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, hit theatres on July 18. The film immediately became a box office and musical success.
Meanwhile, Arijit Singh has delivered several chart-topping hits over the years. Some of his popular tracks include Tum Hi Ho, Chahun Main Ya Naa, Hum Mar Jayenge from Aashiqui 2, Humdard from Ek Villain, Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga from Half Girlfriend, and Hamari Adhuri Kahani. The singer has also lent his vocals to the emotional track Dhun.
Arijit has recently surpassed American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who has 139.5 million, with 151 million followers on the music streaming service.
