Music maestro AR Rahman is glowing with pride as his daughter Raheema celebrates a significant academic milestone.

The young graduate, who specialised in hospitality, entrepreneurship, and innovation, recently finished her studies at Switzerland's esteemed Glion Institute of Higher Education. Rahman celebrated the happy occasion by posting a touching photo of Raheema in her graduation gown on Instagram, a rare personal moment.

In a touching post, the Oscar-winning composer wrote, "My little princess, Raheema, has graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education with a focus on Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. #Prouddad."

The candid family update quickly won over the internet, with fans flooding the comments section with congratulations and well wishes for Raheema.

Known for his iconic compositions in films like Slumdog Millionaire, Roja, and Rockstar, AR Rahman is renowned throughout the world for keeping his family life out of the spotlight. Thus, this joyous post provided a unique window into his private life. Rahman and Saira Banu have three children together, including Raheema.

Over the years, the Rahman family has been in the news on occasion. In a private ceremony attended by close friends and family, Rahman's older daughter Khatija married audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed in 2022.

However, 2024 brought news of personal upheaval, as Rahman and Saira Banu announced their separation. A statement shared by a family representative at the time read: “After many years of marriage, Saira and her husband, A.R. Rahman, have made the difficult decision to separate… after significant emotional strain in their relationship.”

Despite this, Saira Banu clarified earlier this year that they had not officially divorced. As Rahman recovered from a health scare involving chest pain and angioplasty, she stated, “I wish him a speedy recovery… We are not officially divorced, we are still husband and wife… I request everyone not to call me his ex-wife.”

Even amid personal challenges, the family continues to support and celebrate one another’s milestones—Raheema’s graduation being the latest testament to that enduring bond.
