Prime Video’s high-stakes reality thriller The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar, has kicked off with a bang, featuring shocking evictions, dramatic twists, and strategic betrayals. Among the 20 celebrity contestants in the star-studded cast is digital creator Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, who is now making waves not only on screen but also with her candid commentary off-screen.

In a recent vlog on her YouTube channel, Apoorva gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how she was cast for The Traitors. While recounting the audition process, she didn’t shy away from throwing a cheeky jab at Salman Khan’s long-running reality show Bigg Boss.

“I, in general, don’t watch reality TV a lot,” she shared. “Meri mummy ne mujhe bachpan main Bigg Boss bhi nahi dekhne diya tha. Mummy kehti thi, ‘Bigg Boss dekhoge toh gaali dene ki aadat lag jayegi.’”

The comment drew laughs from her audience, but Apoorva didn’t stop there. She also poked fun at herself in the process, adding, “Look how I have tuned out, mummy. Abhi bhi gaali dene ki gandi aadat hai mujhe, toh isse badhiya mummy mujhe Bigg Boss dekhne deti.”

Apoorva then subtly contrasted The Traitors with Bigg Boss, calling Karan Johar’s show a more intellectually stimulating experience. “It’s a smarter show,” she said, “because people actually use their brains for a purpose.” Still, she admitted the drama wasn’t too different, quipping that just like Bigg Boss, contestants on The Traitors also ended up “abusing each other for no reason.”

Premiered on June 12, The Traitors is set in the regal Hotel Suryagarh, Jaisalmer, and features a game of deception, trust, and betrayal. The unique format pits 20 players—three of whom are secret Traitors—against each other in a battle for a prize pot of Rs 1 crore.

While the group completes daily tasks to grow the prize money, the Traitors secretly eliminate players at night. The suspense heightens during the “Round Table,” where contestants vote to banish someone they suspect of being a Traitor.

New episodes drop every Thursday at 8 PM, keeping fans on edge. With a vibrant mix of contestants including Karan Kundrra, Raftaar, Uorfi Javed, Jannat Zubair, and many more, the show promises to be an addictive blend of mind games and high drama.
