A controversy has erupted around Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent after disturbing content was aired, leading to calls for the show to be banned. The trouble began when YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as 'Beer Biceps', asked a participant inappropriate and offensive questions about his parents. These questions sparked widespread criticism and outrage.
Following the backlash, the video was taken down from YouTube after intervention from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Allahbadia also released a video message apologizing for his behavior, admitting that comedy wasn't his strength and that his actions were wrong.
The situation has escalated further, with multiple FIRs filed against those involved. Mumbai police officers were seen outside Allahbadia's residence on Tuesday. FIRs have been registered not only against Allahbadia, but also against other influencers involved in the show, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Mukhija, and Samay Raina himself.

Apoorva Mukhija, one of the panelists on the show, visited Khar Police Station on Wednesday with her lawyer to record her statement regarding the case.
According to News 18, the FIR filed by the Maharashtra cyber department alleges that Samay Raina intentionally uploaded the controversial episode featuring Allahbadia to create public outrage.
The controversy has caught the attention of higher authorities as well. A parliamentary panel has announced its intention to discuss the issue, highlighting the need for regulations and laws to govern social media platforms. The matter was also raised in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, indicating its growing importance.
The controversy raises important questions about the content shared on online platforms and the responsibility of creators and participants. It also underscores the debate surrounding freedom of speech versus the need to prevent the spread of offensive and harmful material. The outcome of the FIRs and the parliamentary discussions could potentially lead to stricter regulations for online content in the future.
