After receiving backlash for comments she made during Samay Raina's India's Got Latent, Apoorva Mukhija made a significant comeback to social media last month.

By jokingly referring to herself as "Alia Bhatt from Aram Nagar," the actor and content creator has now generated new buzz and a range of reactions from fans.

Apoorva shared a picture of herself wearing a beige short dress with a crisscross mesh design on Instagram on Sunday. The ensemble was strikingly similar to Alia Bhatt's custom Gucci saree from the Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony.

Alongside her photo, Apoorva shared an image of Alia on the red carpet, captioning the post, “Alia Bhatt from Aram Nagar.”

The post quickly attracted mixed reactions. Some followers showered Apoorva with compliments, with one user commenting, “You look more beautiful than Alia,” while another praised her style, saying, “You slayed in this.” However, not all responses were favourable; several fans challenged the comparison, posting remarks such as, “Not even close” and “You shouldn’t even compare.”

When Alia Bhatt represented her brand, L'Oréal Paris and Gucci, at Cannes 2025, she made headlines. The actress looked stunning in a shimmering custom Gucci saree with a "sexy, very minimal silhouette" for the closing ceremony.

She accessorised the look with a stylish silver mini Jackie handbag. Her appearance on the red carpet instantly went viral on social media.

Apoorva Mukhija on the other hand, most recently starred with Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in the Nadaaniyan movie, which was supported by Karan Johar. She is scheduled to make an appearance on Karan Johar's upcoming reality show, The Traitors.

With a sizable monetary prize and a sought-after title up for grabs, the show brings together 20 celebrities from various backgrounds to compete in a high-stakes game of trust and treachery. On June 12, The Traitors will debut on Amazon Prime Video.

Apoorva's bold social media presence and light-hearted self-comparison have kept her in the spotlight, demonstrating her increasing self-assurance as she returns to the spotlight.
