Anupamaa written update, August 18: Vasundhara and Khyati create problems in Ansh and Prarthana's marriage

Unfazed, Anupamaa dodges Khyati's insults by concentrating on the wedding of Ansh and Prarthana.

Anupamaa is one of the most loved shows on television today. Starring Rupali Ganguly, it is high on drama which currently surrounds around the marriage of Ansh and Prathana.

In the latest episode, Anupamaa asserts that girls should have the freedom to select their partners and loudly says why they aren't consulted before marriage.

Prarthana remembers how Vasundhara once abruptly announced her marriage, ruining her ambitions for an MBA and a job. Anupamaa contends that if families can talk about unimportant topics like food, why can't they talk about marriage?

Offended, Vasundhara attributes Prarthana's divorce to Anupamaa and Ansh. In response, Anupamaa blames Gautam, emphasizing that wooing might have exposed his actual character. While Khyati makes fun of Anupamaa's own past—her failed marriage to Vanraj and her romance with Anuj—Vasundhara makes fun of her progressive beliefs.

Unfazed, Anupamaa dodges Khyati's insults by concentrating on the wedding of Ansh and Prarthana. She claims that Prarthana's second marriage is legitimate if Parag's is. When Gautam objects, Anupamaa silences him and says Prarthana would never be pleased with him. After she gives a stirring speech about women's independence, Vasundhara snipes that Anupamaa still faces difficulties even though she is free. Anupamaa retaliates; she is pleased that she persisted.

Pakhi accuses Anupamaa of causing the chaos, while Leela worries about her meddling. Anupamaa reassures Prarthana that the Kotharis won't attend her wedding. Later, while engrossed in her memories, Anupamaa pays a visit to Anuj Ki Rasoi and recalls their history together, implying that there are unresolved feelings hidden beneath her tough demeanor.

In the episodes ahead, while Gautam deftly pushes Vasundhara by asking how Prarthana's child could be accepted as a Shah, the Shahs happily celebrate Prarthana and Ansh's marriage. Anupama is shocked when Vasundhara and Khyati show up shortly after with Prarthana's legal documents.
