Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway is currently filming the most-awaited Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York City and has recently had an ops moment on the set. In the middle of the scene, Hathaway fell on the stairs after her heels broke.
However, the 42-year-old actress bounced back gracefully, even holding a bagel in her hand. A video from the moment is going viral on social media and has reached the actress.
Hathaway shared the video on her Instagram and took a hilarious dig at her stumble. Sharing the video, the actress penned in the caption, “Twenty years later, still falling for you…”
The video started with a scene from The Princess Diaries that shows her character, Mia Thermopolis, slipping on the school bleachers with the caption, “how it started.”
The fan-edited video then featured a clip of Hathaway’s recent fall with the caption, "witnessing the queen herself take a tumble like a champ.”
The fall in The Princess Diaries was totally unscripted but perfectly fitting for the film, and that’s why the makers decided to keep the scene. However, several fans also urged in the comment section of Hathaway’s post to keep the scene of her fall in the upcoming sequel.
Previously, Hathaway appeared on The Happy Days of Garry Marshall program in 2020 and reflected on the accidental stumble that became an iconic scene.
The actress said at the time, “I turned really fast, slipped on a puddle, and just I mean fell. I mean just absolutely fell, and burst out laughing and kept going with the scene. Never thought about it again.”
She talked about director Marshall and continued, “All of a sudden, like six months later it's in the trailer ... He kept it because it was a charming moment.”
Meanwhile, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt will also return to the sequel as their iconic characters, Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton, respectively.
The sequel will also feature several new cast members, including Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet and Bridgerton fame Simone Ashley.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 1, 2026.
