Hollywood actress Ana de Armas is all set to step into the John Wick action thriller universe with the spinoff Ballerina. The actress has recently reflected on her character Eve, a woman driven by a desire for revenge.
Ana De Armas talked about her character and said, “I'm a woman in a man's world. These assassins that I fight in the movie are huge guys, and I want to feel that; I want the audience to feel that every punch, every kick, anything that I get, it hurts. I want to translate that into the physicality of it. I want people to feel like she is barely getting out of it. She's overwhelmed, she's tired.”
Capturing that realism meant putting herself through what she calls “the most physical role” of her career. “It's a lot to take in,” she says. “All the other action things I did before that were a little smaller helped me.”
She also reflected on the preparation that usually began four months before filming.
She recalled, “It was intense, I have to say. It was very physical, and my body was hurting most of the time, but the mental power that you have to have to just keep pushing through and overcome the pain, the tiredness, the bruises, the blisters in your fingers from the guns, or the broken nails, all those little things. I felt like I was in the Ruska Roma.”
Filmmaker Len Wiseman praised the actress’ dedication and performance and noted, “She was kind of beat up every day. She handled it wonderfully.”
While talking about her character and her revenge, filmmaker Len Wiseman shared, “It's just bigger than her and she can't control it.” He added, “One of the things I like the most is that [she's] opposite to John: he wants to get out of the Ruska Roma, and she wants in.”
However, the director further revealed that the distinction grabbed his and De Armas’ attention and pushed them to accept the film offer.

He explained, “What I was really set on is I would love to do a movie that is actually not a female John Wick. She is actually a character that is, in her own right, a complete badass, but a very different story than John Wick.”
Directed by Len Wiseman, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. The upcoming film revolves around Eve Macarro, played by Ana de Armas, a highly skilled assassin on a relentless quest for vengeance against those who destroyed her family.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will release on June 6 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
