Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently made headlines for being stabbed at his home. However, the actor faced legal trouble for a 2012 case in which actress Amrita Arora Ladak recently testified.
Saif is accused of attacking an NRI businessman and his father-in-law at a five-star hotel on February 22, 2012. Amrita was notably the part of the group who had dinner with Saif at the hotel where the alleged incident occurred.
According to PTI, Amrita told the court that the hotel had provided a private area for their group, where they were enjoying dinner. However, the complainant suddenly arrived, began yelling, and verbally abused them, according to her testimony.
The actress said, “We saw someone barging into our enclosure and, in a very loud, aggressive voice, told us to shut up and keep quiet. We all got shocked at what was happening.” She also added that Saif immediately stood up and apologised.
She further stated in her testimony that the man left, and they continued with their dinner. Later, when Saif stepped away to use the restroom, they heard loud voices, including Saif’s. Shortly after, they saw the man burst into their private area and physically assault the actor.
She added, “Everyone then intervened and separated the two. That’s when the man started abusing them and threatening them with ‘dire consequences.’”
Saif Ali Khan was dining with Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora Ladak, and a few male friends at the hotel when a fight erupted with NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma.

According to police, Iqbal Sharma complained about the group's loud conversation, prompting Saif to allegedly threaten and then punch him, breaking his nose. The NRI businessman further alleged that Saif and his friends physically assaulted his father-in-law, Raman Patel.
However, Saif countered that Iqbal made derogatory comments and used abusive language towards the women in his group, which sparked the altercation. Saif Ali Khan and his two friends, Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, have been formally charged under Section 325 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code.
