In a tragic turn of events that has shaken the entire nation, at least 26 tourists lost their lives in a brutal terror attack in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The horrifying assault, which occurred on Tuesday in the Anantnag district, has left several others critically injured. Victims are currently undergoing treatment across various hospitals. The attack has not only sparked immense national outrage but has also led to the rise of a powerful social media movement under the banner “All Eyes On Pahalgam”.

The phrase quickly took over Instagram, following the post of a heart-wrenching AI-generated image by a journalist. The image portrays a grief-stricken woman holding her lifeless husband, surrounded by a pool of blood. Above them is a blood-dripping outline of the Kashmir region marked with the now-viral message “All Eyes On PAHALGAM.” The image struck a chord globally, highlighting the need for justice, safety, and awareness about the tragedy.

The graphic went viral within hours, crossing over one million shares on Instagram. It resonated deeply with netizens and celebrities alike, prompting a wave of support. Bollywood actors such as Ram Charan, Randeep Hooda, and Vijay Varma shared the image through their Instagram Stories, expressing their grief and condemning the heinous act.

“Deeply saddened by the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. We must stand united against such acts of terror. Strength and prayers to all those affected. Justice must be swift, the safety of our people must be non-negotiable,” wrote Randeep Hooda in his Instagram post.

The national grief extended beyond social media. In the aftermath, Srinagar witnessed heightened security as the bodies of the deceased were brought in for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Control Room (PCR). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cutting short his Saudi trip, returned to India on Wednesday to chair a high-level Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting. The meeting was aimed at evaluating the situation and formulating the government’s response.

Civil society organizations and political groups across Jammu and Kashmir also responded with a complete shutdown of activities in protest against the terror attack. Their united stance reflects the collective grief and anger of a region long grappling with conflict.

The Pahalgam tragedy has not only devastated the families of those who lost their lives but has also reignited crucial questions regarding the safety of tourists in conflict-prone zones. The overwhelming support from the public and celebrities underlines the power of digital platforms in rallying voices for justice and raising awareness in the face of senseless violence.

As “All Eyes On Pahalgam” continues to trend, the hope remains that this collective call for justice does not fade and that concrete actions follow the wave of solidarity now echoing across the country and beyond.
