aespa gets mobbed by fans at Seoul airport; crowd gets unruly causing safety concerns

aespa recently encountered a large and unruly crowd at Gimpo Airport in Seoul, following their return from an overseas schedule in China. Despite their efforts to avoid large crowds by arriving later than usual, the situation quickly escalated into a dangerous fan mobbing incident.

Upon arriving from a fan meeting and special cafe event in collaboration with KMSTATION in China, the members of aespa—Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle—were met with an unexpectedly large crowd of fans. The group’s bodyguards attempted to create a secure barrier to protect the members, but fans ended up mobbing the artists in their eagerness to catch a glimpse of them.

Winter and Karina, in particular, were visibly uncomfortable and scared as they navigated through the mob towards the exit. This situation was especially alarming given that Winter had recently undergone surgery, making the incident even more concerning for her safety and well-being.

Fans expressed their anger and concern over the situation, as the mobbing could have led to serious accidents or injuries. Despite the chaos, the members of aespa were eventually able to reach their vehicles and leave the airport.

aespa, formed by SM Entertainment, consists of four members: Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle. Since their debut with the single Black Mamba in 2019, the group has achieved significant commercial success, particularly with their hit Next Level.

Recently, aespa made a comeback with their full studio album titled Armageddon, featuring lead singles Supernova and Armageddon. The group also embarked on their second world tour, SYNK: PARALLEL LINE 2024, performing across various cities and countries. The tour kicked off in June in their home country, Seoul, South Korea.
