Aditi Sharma finally speaks up on her secret marriage and divorce with husband Abhineet Kaushik: 'I am being threatened'

Aditi Sharma has finally broken her silence on the secret wedding and allegations levelled against her by estranged husband Abhineet

Actress Aditi Sharma has been in news for her secret wedding and separation from husband Abhineet Kaushik. The actress has finally reacted and in conversation with India Forums, Aditi said she is being 'threatened.'

Aditi, who is currently seen in Apollena, has been accused by her husband of 'cheating'. To this Aditi in her defence said 'there are a lot of false allegations made on me by Abhineet.'

Aditi also refuted charges by Abhineet that she had called their wedding as 'mock marriage.'

''Despite the legal advice that I should refrain from commenting on anything right now, I am compelled to issue this statement because there are a lot of false allegations made on me by Abhineet Kaushik. First of all, I never said that ours was a 'mock marriage'. Yes, it was a private ceremony, but it was not a secret marriage. My family, my close friends, my relatives knew about it. It was not a secret thing, but it was private. I have loved him a lot and I did not want to lose him and that is why I got married to him."

"I have a decent career and we thought it won't be wise to suddenly put it out in public right now as I was also shooting for Apollena at that time and my character in the show was of an 18 year old girl. So both of us decided to not disclose it publicly. For a very long time, there were a lot of telephonic conversations with his family , where they used to ask us when are we getting married, we are waiting. And as his parents are old, and his family would say 'usually people do get married in this age, so when will you both marry?' He also had other Rishtas , and I never wanted to lose him because I loved him. So, I gave in to the unsaid pressure and decided to marry. Infact he came to Romania when I was doing Khatron Ke Khiladi to propose to me and that is when I said yes.''

''There were a lot of 'ups and downs' even when we were in a relationship. There were a lot of times when I wanted to breakup with him and there were a lot of times when he wanted to breakup with me, which is pretty normal in a relationship but I thought we will work it out even though there were a lot of issues even right before we got married. I thought marriage will change things and we will work it out and I thought he will become a better person, infact, I'll become a better person, that is what you always think when you are in love that everything will work out. Only out of love you get married,'' she said.

Hopeful that thing will get better 

Aditi said she was hopeful of things getting better after marriage but says things only got worse and there were 'seious issues' she faced during the time they were married.

''But after getting married just within a month , I was facing unbearable marital disputes and there were real serious issues which I was facing, a lot of misbehaviour and other things which I cannot disclose right now because that is going to go ahead in the court. I cannot disclose it to the media and people but there were real serious issues that is why I sought separation and I wanted it very peacefully. I never wanted to defame or say ill about him and harm his reputation in any way. I just wanted separation and he called both our parents himself here to sort it out.

Abhineet disrespected my parents 

Aditi has accused Abhineet of disrespecting her parents and says it was not the first time he did such a thing.

"But when my family heard both the sides and they supported me he started disrespecting them as well, which is not the first time he had done that. Both families talked and decided that we should separate amicably. He has disrespected me and my family in front of our friends also multiple times,'' she added.

Aditi didn't directly speak about domestic violence but said 'I am going to speak the truth and not going to hide it.'

''I am really bound by my lawyers to not speak about this. But, domestic abuse was not from my side. I can just say this much. It was not from my side. I genuinely loved him. I am gonna speak the truth. And I am not gonna hide it. But I will say the truth at the right place, which is court. I am not going to speak to the media and to anyone else about it. My lawyers are going to put my case through and they are going to show every proof to the court, to the justice system of our country. Because anyone can say anything about anyone.," she said.

The actress also said that was 'compelled' to leave her house as she was 'being threatened' by a few names from the 'underworld.'

“I was compelled to leave my house because of few reasons, and I was very scared. There are a few names from the underworld which are involved by him and his best friend. Apart from that, due to serious threats from Abhineet, I have to limit my comments. But Abhineet had already threatened to defame me and my family if I left him. And he has followed those steps. As soon as I moved out of my apartment, he has gone to the media and tried defaming me. That is why, I am very apprehensive about saying anything. Because there might be some things he'll do after this also. So I'm really scared to even speak much about it. The allegations he is putting on me, I will prove everything in the court,'' says Aditi.

Aditi and Abhineet got married in November 2024 and are now headed for divorce. Abhineet has also accused Aditi of cheating on him with her Apollena co-star. He also alleged that Aditi has asked for Rs 25 lakh in settlement.
